Hatti Kaapi
Premium Coffee & Café Ecommerce PlatformHatti Kaapi
Hatti Kaapi grew from a single 2009 store in Bengaluru's Gandhi Bazaar into a 110 outlet South Indian coffee brand known for the Hatti Heroes program that employs specially abled and senior citizen staff, selling regional single origin beans, ground coffee, and jaggery through cafés and its ecommerce platform.
Hatti Kaapi opened its first store in Bengaluru's Gandhi Bazaar in 2009 and has since grown to 110 outlets, built on a vertically controlled supply chain running from the coffee cherries picked in Karnataka's growing districts through to roasting. The brand's most distinctive feature is Hatti Heroes, a program employing specially abled staff and senior citizens across its stores, paired with tangible environmental practices like serving filter coffee in earthen pots and giving used coffee grounds to customers as free fertilizer. The objective of this project was an ecommerce platform for the brand's regional single origin beans, ground coffee, and jaggery that gives the Hatti Heroes story and the brand's coffee growing region heritage real visibility rather than treating them as a footnote.

Hatti Heroes is a genuinely distinct social impact story, inclusive employment for specially abled and senior citizen staff across 110 outlets, but a story like that easily gets lost if a coffee ecommerce site defaults to generic sustainability language. The platform needed to give that program, and the brand's named regional coffee lines like Malnad Days and Kodagu, real space instead of treating them as decoration around a standard product catalogue.
We built the site to carry the Hatti Heroes program and the brand's regional sourcing story throughout the shopping experience, not confined to a single About page, so the specific, verifiable parts of the brand's identity show up wherever a customer is actually making a purchase decision.
Calibre Associates designed and developed an ecommerce platform for coffee beans, ground coffee, the 6 second filter coffee decoction, and jaggery, organized around Hatti Kaapi's named regional lines, Malnad Days, Monsoon Malabar, Kodagu, and Chickmangaluru, each tied to the actual growing region rather than presented as interchangeable roasts. Product and brand pages carry the Hatti Heroes inclusive employment story and the earthen pot and free coffee ground fertilizer environmental practices as concrete, specific details, alongside the brand's named celebrity endorsements, rather than generic claims a shopper has seen from every other coffee brand.

The platform gives Hatti Kaapi a way to sell on what actually sets it apart, the Hatti Heroes inclusive employment program, named single origin coffee lines tied to real growing regions, and concrete environmental practices, instead of blending into the generic heritage coffee language most brands in the category default to. Fifteen plus years of history from one Gandhi Bazaar store to 110 outlets gives the brand a credibility a newer competitor simply can't claim.
